About Tahoe Park, Sacramento
This neighborhood in Sacramento is named for the areas surrounding the 17.82 acre park located between 59th and 61st Streets in Sacramento. About 8,500 people live in this neighborhood. The area that is now Tahoe Park was first annexed by the city of Sacramento in 1911, and this neighborhood was in the southeastern corner. Starting in 1939, new tract homes were built near 55th St and 8th Ave. Post WWII, the city of Sacramento grew rapidly. In 1948, the area now known as Tahoe Park South was annexed, lying southeast of 14th Ave and Stockton Boulevard. Then, in 1958, an area northeast of 14th Avenue and 65th Street was annexed. This area is known today as Tahoe Park East. In the 1970s and 1980s, growth in this neighborhood had slowed, but thanks to neighborhood associations and community renovations, this area has had a resurgence, beginning in the late 1990s continuing to present day.
